panoramic pic

hey all,

the blog cuts some of the 1st picture off, so you have to click on it and open in a new window to see the entire thing.

sorry bout that!

Clement Goodwill Pictures

So I walked over to our store yesterday to check it out and take some pics...

This 1st pic is the entire front. Please excuse my photoshop-illiterate attempt at making 3 pics look like 1 panoramic view, but I think you can still get an idea of the space we are working with from this pic.

Here are closer shots of each window...

These are torso mannequins that are hanging from hooks. There is only a little ledge in each of the windows for displaying small items, so we're probably better off using tables and book shelves which they have set up currently (more pics below).
You can see in this pic and in a few close ups that I have below that their entire storefront is currently decorated in a Christmas theme. They have trees, lights, santa figurines, stockings, etc. I know we are not supposed to use items that represent specific religious observances, but does anyone else feel guilty taking down all of their current holiday decor?

Here is the 3rd window, again with the holiday theme.
Here is a bookshelf we'll be able to use. You can also get an idea of the small ledge that we have to work with in each window.
This is the window display from the inside... they have tables and boxes set up, that I'm sure we can use. Also, the sign says "All Items are for Display Only Please Don't Touch" the employee I spoke with said that this is impossible to enforce and that people ignore it and purchase items in the window. All of this confused me -- wouldn't they want ppl to buy that stuff?

More Christmas stuff...

They also had a bunch of movies, books and records. One idea I had was that we could possibly recreate scenes/characters from a holiday movie or book. Again, I don't know how that will work with us not being allowed to show any specific holiday, but it was just a thought.
Okay, hope all of this is helpful and gets our ideas flowing... I definitely think we will find inspiration for our concept once we get to the store on Wednesday. This is more to give you an idea of what we're working with and what the windows currently look like.

snowflake templates

hey guys, i found some simple snowflake templates online and tried them out.

this is how the templates look like, you fold along the lines and cut out the grey areas. since we'll be using mainly newspaper and other recyled paper we can just take a sharpie and draw out the patterns?

yay snowflakes!

Our Proposal

We are creating a sustainable window display by reusing and repurposing goodwill items to fit the holiday/seasonal theme. We will all be filled with the holiday/seasonal spirit!
Examples:
• Socks as stockings.
• Newspaper and Cardboard cutouts
• Book milk and cookies

Or we just hire these guys to do their thing out front.

---------------

can team members keep some of their recycled paper/newspapers from work to bring to the goodwill to make snowflakes.
Should we meet tomorrow AM? Does 10:00 work for everyone?
